• The Department of Botany organised a National Webinar on the topic “Fiery Drag of Biotechnology- A Philosophical Approach” on the 1 st of July 2020. The resource person for the webinar was Dr. Abiya Chelliah, Assistant Professor in Botany, St. Johns college,Palayamkottai, TN.



• An interdisciplinary webinar on the topic of “Career opportunities in Science” was organised of 15th June 2020. The resource person was Ms. Puja Rauniyar, Research scholar, University of Naples Federico II(Italy). She briefed about how to qualify for the scholarships and also about the different courses offered in foreign universities.

• A career counselling on the topic “Upward Mobility- Career Path” was also organised.

• Mrs. Esther Watson and Ms. Nancy Deborah were invited to be the Resource Person for the Gardening Workshop organized by the Student Council of Bishop Cotton Women’s Christian College The topic was “Lets Grow Together”. Simple home gardening techniques were discussed and demonstrated using coriander seeds.





• An online quiz was conducted to prepare students who aspire to take up Botany as their core subject in their further studies. Botany for Competitive exams part-I was conducted on 16th and 17th July 2020 and Botany for competitive exams part-II was conducted on 24thOctober 2020.
