The Bishop Cotton Women’s Christian College library started in a modest way in 1985 and today has a collection of 23000 books. The library has a unique collection of rare books (Some even a hundred years old), apart from a good collection of fiction, autobiographies, counselling and personality development books and book of interest and hobbies.
Apart from books and journals, the library has institutional membership in DELNET, N-LIST and British Council so that our users can either, read, download or borrow from.
The library has facilities like internet browsing & reprographic facilities. It also has a very good reference collection, journals & periodicals, reference materials and various study materials on competitive examinations.
Recognizing the growing demand of its library users for e-resources, to widen their search for information, the library since 2013 has Institutional membership to DELNET (Developing Library Network) and to NLIST(INFLIBNET) and The British Council Library since 2018.
A separate library & Information Centre has been introduced for the four Post Graduation Courses, namely M.Com, M.Sc.(Psychology), M.A.(English) and M. Sc.(Nutrition & Dietetics)
To create both, a valuable resource hub and a digital platform.
To foster collaborative learning and help students build a community outside the classroom
