Skills (SCS) Program
Superior communication skills are vital in improving the employability of graduating students. This demands a high level of fluency that needs years of instruction by dedicated teachers.
Based on the above premise, College management has decided to strengthen English Syllabus for UG batches from early stages, viz Semester 2 through to Semester 6, across all streams.

Program Objectives :
The SCS Program aims to formulate a syllabus to supplement or support the existing teaching of English and Communication skills at UG level. The primary objective of SCS is to equip students from early stages (Sem 2) with the skills needed to perform better in placement interviews and in their respective careers.

Program
The highlights of SCS are as follows :

  • The proposed syllabus aims to minimise overlap with the existing English syllabus.
  • Topics that are currently underemphasised or missing in current syllabus have been included, e.g. Aptitude training (essential for placement training), body language and pronunciation.
  • The emphasis progressively shifts so as to provide more focus in higher Semesters (5 and 6) on job readiness skills (viz. Resume writing / Interview / Presentation skills).
  • The content will be customised based on streams. For example, business vocabulary for B.Com or BBA students differs from that for BA or BSc students.
  • Predominantly based on Lectures/ PPTs, the sessions will be supported by a wide-ranging mix of quizzes/assignments/case studies and role plays. Thus, the sessions will be highly interactive.
