Botany Reports:
• The Department of Botany organised an online Quiz titled – Life Science Competitive Exam- Part 3 on the 25 th of February 2022, in celebration of National Science Day. There were around 75 participants across the country from various colleges of undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
• The department organised an Ignite talk session titled “Plantae de sanitas” . The resource person was Dr. Abiya Chelliah, Professor at St. Johns College , Palayamkotai. TN. The session was followed by an online event “Sketchnoting”.
• The BSc students had a visit to DGQA Local exhibition at DIQA, Bangalore. The students were given an opportunity to view the different arms and ammunitions used by the Defence force of our country at various wars, a few of them included the rifles and machine guns used during the Kargil War.
• The Departments of Biotechnology and Botany organised a virtual Industrial tour to Monsanto India Limited. The other Industrial Visits included: Visit to Sula Wines, Channapatna, Visit to MYMUL Mysore, and Visit to Lalbagh Botanical gardens, Bangalore.
