• Mrs Esther Watson gave a guest lecture on the topic “Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers Rights Act, 2001- (PVFRPA) Intellectual Property Right” On 27th March 2023 for all the M.Com students, to enlighten them about the PVFRPA.
The Department of Botany also conducted an intercollegiate Essay Writing Competition as a part of the Annual Literary and Cultural Fest DISHA 2023. The topic was “The Interplay between genetics and environmental factors in the development of complex diseases”. Around 13 participants from different Colleges
participated.
The final year BSc students put up a very informative BulletinBoard on Pomology.
• The Department of Botany joined with the Outreach Committee and the SCM Joined hands in visiting the Gerizim Home for the special children.
• As a part of the syllabus prescribed by the Bengaluru City University various field visits and industrial visits were organised.
• The beautiful Flower show organised by the Lalbagh Botanical Garden.

• Industrial trip to Hyderabad,– Indian Council of Medical
Research (ICMR) -National Insitute of Nutrition NIN and the CSIR – Indian
Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT).
