Chemistry Reports:
The Bishop Cotton Chemical Society was inaugurated on 3rd October 2020. Dr. Ujjal K Gautam, Scientist, Assistant Professor, Chemical Sciences Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Mohali, Pujab, delivered an inaugural talk on “Emerging Aspects of Nanomaterials and chemical Reactions: Promises for a better Future” using the online platform – Microsoft Teams.
Prof. Uday Maitra, Department of Organic Chemistry, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, delivered a talk on “Learning Chemistry Principles through Simple Experiments” during the National Level Webinar organized on Thursday, the13th August 2020 using online platform – Microsoft Teams.
An Inter – collegiate Chemistry competition in photography and sketching was organised for all UG students on 5th August 2020 An Inter – collegiate National Level e-Quiz Competition was organised on 21st and 22nd September 2020 using Google Forms.
Dr. P. S. Basavaraju, Rtd, Professor, BIT college, Bengaluru, delivered a talk on “ Planck’s Constant and ideas across different areas of Science” during the National Level Webinar organised by the Department of Physics in collaboration with the Department of Chemistry and Mathematics on Wednesday, 30th September 2020.
A virtual Inter – class competion Fun with Chemistry was conducted on 17th and 18th December 2020. Events like Spot the spectra, Dissolve the knot – crossword puzzle, Place the misplaced elements and Pick and speak were conducted. Students were highly benefitted during the COVID lockdown by attending brainstorming events.
Bulletin board on Nano science, “Role of Nano science in daily life” was displayed on 16th August 2019.
