Commerce Reports:
Orientation Programme:
An Orientation Programme for the I Semester B. Com students on the topic NEP, Management Skills & Basics of Accounting on 6th & 7th September 2022. 132 students were part of this programme.
Career Guidance Programme:
● Career Guidance session on CA/CS conducted by ICAI on 3rd November 2022 for B.Com/BBA students. 250 students participated. The resource persons were CA. Mridul Agarwal, Faculty, ICAI & CA. Punith Kumar N, Faculty, ICAI.
● Career Guidance session on CA/CS conducted by Arivupro Academy on 15th September 2022 for B.Com students. 200 students participated. The resource person was Ms. Shubhi Moondra, Corporate Trainer.
● Career Guidance session on 'Selection in Human Resource' on 17th November 2022 for final year B.Com/BBA students. The Resource Person was Mr. Prashanth Sheshadri, Senior Talent Advisor – OneX-EMEA, CISCO. 160 students participated.
● Career Guidance session - Career Opportunities in RBI on 29th November 2022 for final year B.Com/BBA & M.Com students. The Resource Persons were Mr. Vishal Ranjan, Manager, RBI & Ms. Madhuchhanda Sahoo, Manager, RBI. 170 students participated.
Guest Lecture:
● Guest Lecture on the topic ‘Role of Banks in Digital India’ on 10th November 2022. The Resource Person was Mr. P. Shashidharan, Assistant General Manager, Reserve Bank of India, Bengaluru. 100 students participated.
● Guest lecture on the topic “Capital Market Awareness” on 21st June, 2023. The resource person was Mr. Rahul Dhawan, Investment Coach and Trainer, Lotus Knowlwealth Pvt Ltd, Mumbai. 100 students of the final year B.Com participated in the session.
Seminar:
Seminar on ‘Stock Trading & Live Demonstration’ on 8th February 2023. The Resource Person was Mr. J Reuben Akash, Project Manager at Paradise Constructions & Stock Trader & Mentor at Cosmic Wealth. 150 students participated.
Industrial Visit:
● Virtual Industrial Visit to Yakult India on 7th November 2022. 43 students participated.
● Industrial Visit to Diary Classic Ice-creams Pvt Ltd on 30th November 2022. 60 students participated.
Outreach Programme:
The students visited an Orphanage - Home of Hope on 21st December 2022 to spread the joy of Christmas and donated groceries, clothes, toys and snacks to the children. 15 students and 1 faculty were part of this programme.
Workshop: The Department of Commerce in association with Institution’s Innovation Council organised a workshop on campus on “Intellectual Property Rights and IP Management for Start-up” on 02nd June 2023. The resource person was Mr Jnana Teja Bandi – Research Assistant, DPIIT Chair on IPR at National Law School of India University, Bangalore and IPR Consultant.
Objectives of the Event:
To apprise participants on the following aspects –
1. IPR and IP Management for start-up.
2. Importance of IPR
3. Steps for patent filing
4. Getting IPR approval for any start-up.
The workshop was conducted for the students of II B.Com and III B.Com. 200 students participated in the workshop.
Inter-Collegiate Competition
The Department organised product launch competition on 5th July 2023. The team from Sindhi College were the winners of the event.
Guidance for Competitive Exams
The Department organised a session on “How to crack CAT?” on 28th July 2023 for II B.Com Students. The resource person was Mr. Sameer Tarhane, IIT-Bombay Alumnus.
120 students participated in the session.
