Faculty Development Program(FDP)
The National Level Online Faculty Development Program was organized for three days by the department of Mathematics on the topic “Matlab and It's Applications'' from 17th - 19th August 2020 at 11:00am - 12:30pm via Microsoft Teams. Matlab workshop mainly focuses on the faculty eager to learn about Matrix Laboratory which is a high-level language and interactive environment for numerical computation, visualization and programming. Using Matlab, we can analyze data, develop algorithms and create models and applications. The language, tools and built-in math functions provide an opportunity to explore multiple approaches and reach a solution faster than with spreadsheets or traditional programming languages.
In Day -1 session, Prof. Esther Prasanakumar , Principal, extended greetings and welcomed the faculty to the program . The introduction of the speaker was given by Ms.Evelin Silviya S , Assistant Professor , Department of Mathematics. Eminent speaker Dr. S. Dhanaseker , Department of Mathematics ,VIT University, Tamil Nadu , discussed on “ Introduction of Matlab, Matrices and Plotting in Matlab. Day-2 session, continued by Dr.A.David Maxim Gururaj, Department of Mathematics ,VIT University , Tamil Nadu, discussed on “Calculus using Matlab” and Day-3 session, by Dr.Hariharan S, Department of Mathematics, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Tamil Nadu , discussed about “Solving ODE and PDE by using Matlab”. The Vote of Thanks given by Ms. Shashikala A, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics. The FDP programme received an overwhelming response with 250 faculty members and research scholars from various states of India from reputed organizations. Feedback was received from the participants . E-certificated were presented to all the participants.
