Events for PUC students: The members of Technovation Club conducted some games and quiz based on IT for the PUC students on 12th December 2022. Around 100 students from the stream of PCMC and CEBA actively participated in the events.
Workshop : A one day workshop on Hardware and Networking was conducted by Jetking, on 4th February 2023. Final year BCA students accompanied with Ms. Christina Rekha, faculty of Department of Computer Science attended the workshop.
Seminar: On 9th February 2023 a seminar on “Blockchain Technology” was conducted for the BCA and BSc Computer Science students.The Resource person was Mr. Joel Sumanth Raj P, Chief Executive, FirstShow Infotainment Pvt Ltd. He gave an introduction about the Blockchain Technology, how it works and its applications in various fields which was an eye opener for the students.
Expert Talk: On 11th May 2023, an Expert Talk on “Artificial Intelligence” was conducted for BSc Computer Science, BCom and BCA students. The guest speaker for the day was Mr. Joseph Mechnaim, the co-founder and CIO of “TRIAS”. He gave a brief explanation of Artificial Intelligence, the different areas in our daily life where it is being implemented, future scope and how it is going to change our lives in the future. It was an interesting session where the student an insight on that technology.
Interdisciplinary Seminar: On 25th May 2023 an interdisciplinary seminar on “Digital Media and Ethics “ was conducted by Dr. Chaya Anil Kumar, Head, Dept. of Journalism. She gave a brief explanation about the challenges faced in Digital Media, the media ethics which defends values about how media should use texts and pictures provided by them.
Student Achievements: Likitha V and Anjum Khanam of III BCA presented a research paper titled “Big Data Analytics – A review” in the National Conference held on 26th May 2023 at Bishop Cotton Academy of Professional Management, Bengaluru.
Interclass Competitions:
From 6th June 2023 to 7th June 2023 inter class competitions were conducted for BCA and BSc Computer students, to give them an opportunity to bring out their talents.
On 21st July 2023 an inter class competition on Research Paper presentation was conducted for the final year BCA students which gave the students an insight of how to do a research on review paper.
Inter Collegiate Competition: On 4th July 2023 during Disha, Poster Making competition was conducted by the department. The topic for the event was “ Eco - Friendly Technology”. Around six colleges had participated in the event.
Online Certificate Courses:
Students of III BCA completed a certificate course on “The Complete Python Pro Bootcamp” through the Udemy Online course. Students of I BCA have registered for the online certificate courses on Ethical Hacking, Python for Data Science, IT Automation with Python etc.
