The Department of Physical Education organized FDP- A Faculty Development
Programme for all the staff members on 1st Feb 2020. "The Importance of
yoga in our daily life"- the Guest for the day was Ms. Rajatha Shetty and the
speaker was Dr. Prem Balindra. The Department conducted Svastya - Way to
Wellness, an International Multi-Disciplinary Symposium on 25thMarch 2020 in
collaboration with the Departments of Home science and Psychology. The
speakers were from the three different fields: a) Dr.Renuka Lazarus-
Consultant Psychiatrist UK b) Dr.Suja Mathai- partner Soukya Holistic Centre c)
Dr. Anjanaa Subramanian-Sports medicine and therapist Around 85
participants took part from other colleges and universities. The Annual Athletic
meet washeld on 12th March 2020 in the United mission Degree College
Grounds. The Chief Guest was Dr. Sivaram, Registrar, BCU. Presiding Dignitary
Bishop, Karnataka Central Diocese. Guests of honor Mr. Sachin
Belavadi,Establishment officer Raman Research Institute, National Basketball
Player and Coach (Kempegowda Awardee) and Ms. Joyline Mural Lobo,
International Athlete. The Sports Secretary Ms. Deepa Lakshmi of III BA took
the Oath and the Individual Champion was Ms. Sinchal Kaveramma of I B.Com.
Around 85 participants took part from other colleges and universities. The
Annual Athletic meet was held on 12th March 2020 in the United mission
Degree College Grounds.

Individual Champion was Ms. Sinchal Kaveramma of I B. Com
Achievements: Ms. Sinchal Kaveramma of I B. Com secured the first place in
the 400 meters Hurdles and second place in the 100meters at BCU
Intercollegiate Annual Athletic meet held at Vidhyanagar Track and field
Stadium near Kempe Gowda International Airport Bengaluru. Also secured
second place in the long jump at Dasara sports, Mysore, Karnataka. Ms.
Vrindha Dinesh, I BBA was selected to represent Karnataka in the under 23
categories.
She was ranked among the top 10 batswomen in India. She was also selected
as the Woman of the Match for the knock played against Bengal chasing a
target of 171 and winning it for Karnataka by scoring 80 runs not out. Her other
top performances were scoring 50 against Railways and 46 against Odisha. She
is also ranked in the top 3 run scorers for Karnataka in the under 23 category.
She was also selected to represent Karnataka in the Seniors category which
was held in Una, Himachal Pradesh.
Ms. Swathi of III B.com secured I place in the Bangalore University
Intercollegiate Fencing Competition held at BU, Jnana Bharathi, Bengaluru. Ms.
Meghashree of II M.Com, Ms. Jennifer G of II BA and Ms. Razina of II BBA
represented the Bengaluru Central University ,Basketball Tournament held at
SRMV, Degree College, Chennai in the month of December 2019
Physical Education Director: Ms. Nirmala C Gowda was on the Selection
Committee of the Bengaluru Central University for the following events -
Basketball for Women, VolleyBall for Women and America Football for
Women.
