The department started its activities for the academic year 2019-20 by conducting elections for the Hindi Parishad in the 3rd week of July 2019. Premchand Jayanthi was celebrated on 31st July, 2019 by the Department. It is a matter of pride that the philanthropic services of Dr. Vinay Kumar Yadav, HOD with a collective support of the students and various other Hindi serving organizations and fraternity of Bangalore Colleges, requesting the Government of Uttar Pradesh for the up-liftment of the dilapidated residence of Munshi Premchand, a renowned Literary Person of Modern Hindi Literature, at Lamhi, Uttar Pradesh, was initiated by the Government in the year 2006. But the work is still in progress. He is still undeterred by these setbacks. A wide coverage of the same was published by Rajasthan Patrika on 31st July, 2019, on the occasion of Premchand Jayanthi.
The department organised Hindi Pakhwada from 28th Aug to 14th Sept,2019. It is an annual event organized in view of Hindi Diwas which is celebrated on 14th September. Various inter-class literary competitions like Creative Writing, Debate, Mehendi design, Quiz, Dumb Charades, Drama, group Dance were held during the fort-night . The Chief Guest for the occasion Mr. P.Jose, Regional Manager, Southern India, Rajasthan Patrika spoke on the importance of Hindi in the field of Journalism and updated the students about the various job opportunities in the government sectors. He distributed the prizes to the winners and encouraged them to reach further heights. Mrs.Esther Prasanna, Principal, BCWCC was present during the occasion. Students enthusiastic participation created a very cheerful atmosphere which was worth a watch. The media partners were Rajasthan Patrika.
The department arranged a Guest lecture on a lesson “Bench ki Samvedana” which is a part of the syllabus of I sem degree on 31st October, 2019. The writer of the essay Sri. Jnanchand Marmagna was the Resource Person who addressed the students of I BCA and I B. Com and briefed about the content of the text.
The department arranged a One-day National level Faculty Development Programme based on the text books of 2nd Semester B. Com syllabus of Bangalore Central University and Bangalore University as well. Around 50 teaching faculty of various Colleges participated in the workshop who were benefitted to a large extent. Dr. Rishab Deo Sharma, retd. Professor, Dakshin Bharath Hindi Prachar Sabha, Southern Zone, Hyderabad, was the Chief Guest and Chairperson for the event. A total of 6 Resource Persons presented Papers on the syllabus. The principal Prof. Esther Prasanna Kumar presided over the function.
The faculty of the department took part in a one day Faculty Development Programme organized by the College on the “Importance of Yoga in the day to day life” on 1st February, 2020 and on “IPR for Spurring Innovation and Creativity” conducted by the Department of Life Science on 8th February,2020.

- Invited to officiate as a Judge for the Debate and Speech Competitions in Hindi, an event organized by Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Doddaballapur, on 16th Aug, 2019, where in 14 Vidyalayas of Karnataka took part.
- Invited by Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Doddaballapur, to judge the Hindi Literary competitions which were organized in the Institution as a part of Regional Level Hindi Pakhwada for the 5 clusters of Hyderabad Region on 26st Aug, 2019.
- Invited as Chief Guest & Resource Person to deliver a talk on Role of Hindi in National unity and integrity by Koshys Institute of Management Studies, Bangalore on 29th Aug,2019.
- Invited as Chief Guest on the occasion of Investiture Programme organized by Millat Women’s College, Kolar, on 31st Aug,2019.
- Invited as one of the Guests of Honour by Sahitya Sadhak Manch, Bangalore on the occasion of Book Release of ‘Khoonti per Aakash,’authored by Shri.Gnanchand Marmagna, an upcoming Hindi writer, on 1st Sept,2019. Dr.Vinay Kumar Yadav has expressed his remarks about the work which has been published in the introductory pages of the book. - Invited by Prasaar Bharathi, Doordarshan Kendra, Bangalore to organise and conduct Hindi Quiz competition on 9th Sept,2019 which was telecasted on DD Chandana at 3 pm, on the occasion of Hindi Diwas on 14th Sept,2019. He was even invited to judge the Impromptu competition [pick’n’speak] which was conducted by DD on 3rd Sept,2019.

- Invited by MLA Academy of Higher Learning, Malleswaram as one of the Panel Members for the Multi Language National Conference on SOCIAL TRANSFORMATION THROUGH LITERATURE on 18th October, 2019. The programme was published in Rajasthan Patrika, Bangalore.
- DD Chandana conducts Hindi classes for its employees on a regular basis every year which are conducted in their premises. This year he was invited to conduct classes for Prabodh, Prajna and Praveen in a workshop which was organized between 29th October,2019 and 6th November, 2019.
- He was invited by DD Chandana, Bangalore to cover a programme and prepare a documentary on Kuppali, the village of a renowned Kannada Poet, Jnanapeeth Awardee, Rastra Kavi Kuvempu in Tirthahalli taluk, Shimoga District, Karnataka, which was telecasted on Kisan Channel, Doordarshan, Delhi.
- DAV School, Jamalpur, Bihar invited him to deliver a motivational talk addressing the teaching faculty of its school on 27th December, 2019
- Invited as Chief Guest by Bharath Electronics Limited., Bangalore which celebrated World Hindi Diwas on 10th January, 2020.
- Shabd Patrika, Bangalore had organized a function on the occasion of a book release titled “ye kahaniya nahi hain” written by Smt.Swarnajyothi on 12th January, 2020. He was invited as Chief Guest for the event.
- Invited as External Examiner for Ph.D Bi-Annual Progress Reort meeting which was held by Reva University, Bangalore on 24th Jan, 2020.
- Invited to Chair a session in a 1 day National-level Seminar on “Rashtriya Chetana Mein Sahitya Ka Yogdan” on 26th January,2020 organised by Sahitya Sadhak Manch, Bangalore. He spoke on the importance and relevance of Hindi Sahitya in the present globalized world.
- St. Claret College, Bangalore had organized a workshop in Hindi on 5th February,2020 in which he was invited as Chief Guest.
- He was invited as a Speaker in a 1 day National Level Seminar organized by St.Joseph College, Bangalore on 10th February, 2020. The topic was “Dakshin Bharath mein Hindi Adhyayan aur Adhyapan.”
- Invited to chair a session and as a Panel Member of technical session for the presentation in Hindi Track in the International Conference titled “Multi-Disciplinary Research on Challenges to change and Development”, on 19th February,2020 by V.E.T. First Grade College, Bangalore.

4. Articles published:
Department of Hindi, Jnanabharahti Campus, Bangalore University had organized a 2 day UGC sponsored National Level Seminar on the topic : “Samasamayik Hindi Sahitya- Chetana ke Swar” in the month of October,2018. Dr. Vinay Kumar Yadav, had presented a paper on the sub title “Samakaleen Kahani – kathya ke Sarokar” which has been published in the book.
5. Social Activities:
‘Suprayas’ an NGO which is the brain child of Dr. Vinay Kumar Yadav, organizes Blanket distribution event every year for the economically and socially deprived community in Phulka, Bihar which is the native village of him. Every year he pays a visit to the village in the last week of December and attends to the needs of the people there. He has been awarded with the Phulka Ratna award for his philanthropic and benevolent services rendered to the community. The villagers are informed about the need of basic education, importance of cleanliness, health and hygiene and the various beneficial schemes provided by the Indian Government. He has been taking active participation in this social service for more than a decade.
