Department of Hindi, in association with Internal Quality Assurance Cell, organised a one-day National webinar on “NEW EDUCATION POLICY 2020” on 17th August, 2020.
After 34 years, we are going to witness several reforms in education in India which aims to make all the Universities and Colleges multi-disciplinary by 2040. The main aim of the webinar was to make the teaching fraternity understand the policy and the importance of it in our multi linguistic country. 528 faculty members and students from all over the country registered for the webinar. Dr Senthil Kumaran was the key speaker for the day. Principal, Professor Esther Prasanna Kumar welcomed the gathering. Addressing the crowd, Dr.Senthil Kumaran highlighted on the importance of new Education Policy and also emphasised the responsibility of education department and the role of the teaching fraternity towards strengthening the education system in India. He said that in these 73 years of Independence, India has seen an overall development. He further said that in 1948, the first Education Policy was implemented under the able leadership of the President of Independent India, Dr S. Radhakrishnan and in 1964, M P Siddeshwar Prasad brought forward the loop holes in education policy based on which, need for a new education policy was realised and almost after 34 years, a New Education Policy 2020 is going to be implemented.
On 27th August, 2020, the department organised a panel discussion on New Education Policy 2020 and Regional Languages. Panelists of the day were Shri Jeevendra Jha–Editor, Rajasthan Patrika and Dr Senthil Kumaran , Chief Confluencer – Learners Confluence. Shri Jeevendra Jha highlighted the importance of Hindi and all other regional languages for the holistic development of our Country. More than 200 faculty members from all over India participated in this Panel Discussion and many of their queries were clarified by the Panel Experts.

● Dr. Vinay Kumar Yadav had the honour of getting selected by Kamala Goenka Foundation, Bangalore, which recognises and felicitates upcoming literary persons in Hindi by awarding "Yashasvi Satyanarayan Goenka Hindi Sahitya Puraskar", to assess and evaluate their literary works as well as their contribution in the field of Hindi literature and nominate the eligible writer for the award.
