The subject aims at the role of the government at international, national & regional level. Through the subject we aim at developing a proper understanding of relation & practices that constitute the public life. The subject requires a variety of approaches we usually link with case studies, documentaries, debate to teach the particular topics.

In the contemporary Indian society, there is a great need of involving the student community in the nation building process. This can be realised only by sensitizing the young generation about the existing socio-political problems and they must be made to realize then social & political responsibilities our department is truly committed of this end and is making sincere effort to achieve the following goals.

• Development of students overall personality by involving them in practical training and co-curricular activities like group discussion on current topics, seminars, field work, projects, visit to legislative sessions, special lectures etc.
• To create and sustain and interest in social science.
• Usage of classroom as an open forum to open up their views related to current topics.
• To create awareness about social reality.
• An ability to arrive at decisions based on analysis and synthesis of information and data like (terrorism, naxalism, communalism, criminalisation of politics, electoral practices etc) of our day to day life.
• Cultivating democratic leadership qualities among them in order to make our democracy more meaningful successful.
• Encouraging students to write competitive examinations like (IAS, IPS, KAS etc) and providing them the required guidance and training.
• To have a greater command over writing, learning and critical thinking and to brighten the future academic career of our students we are trying our best to guide them to pursue research oriented studies.
• To make better citizen to provide future leaders for the nation.
