Zoology Reports:
Ms. Surekha and Ms. Shaikh Sarah Mirza of I B.Sc. CZBt, Ms. Syeda Ayesha and Ms. Elina Moirangthem of II B.Sc. CZBt, presented a poster at the UGC-CPE sponsored '’One Day State Level Seminar on Impact of Climate Change on Wildlife’' organized by the Zoology Department of K.L.E. Society's Nijalingappa College on 4th October 2018.
The department organized a visit to BAMUL-Bangalore Dairy on 16th August 2018. The students learnt the various techniques of collection of milk, Paneer and Ghee preparation and processing. Totaly 35 students visited and gained a lot of information.
The department also organized a field visit to Sericulture Department, Government of India, Ramanagara on 15th February 2019. The students got the knowledge about the Silkworm rearing, Vermicomposting and Cultivation of varieties of Mulberry trees. There were totally 45 students and 2 lecturers visited to this place.
The department organized a Guest Lecture on ‘Apiculture’ on pertaining to the syllabus on the 15th March 2019. The guest speaker was Prof. M.J.H. Shafi, former Vice Principal and Head of the Zoology Department, Vijaya College, Basavangudi, Bangalore. Totally 45 students participated and gained information on this particular topic.
The department conducted 'DUMB CHARADES' for DISHA 2018 on 18th September 2018 on the topic Life Sciences/Biosciences. The students from various other colleges participated and won the prizes.
The department of Zoology displayed a bulletin board on ‘Parental Care in animals’
Mrs. S. Anthuvan Grace, Asst. Prof., mentored II B.Sc. NDCZ students. Attendance issues of students was handled and various problems with regard to students were dealt with.
