1. Guest Lecture:
Department of Political Science and History jointly organized a guest lecture on 9-12-2022,on the topic ‘Human Rights’ to observe the International Human Rights Day. Mr Ramesha G,Assistant Professor, Bangalore Institute of Legal Studies was the resource person. 80 students participated in the event.
2. Voter Registration and Verification Program (ELC):
The Department organized voter registration and verification in collaboration with Election Commission, BBMP and Electoral Literacy Club on 21st December 2022.
The Chief Guests were M. Srinivasa, Assistant Commissioner(Admin-2) and Additional Electoral Registration Officer Chickpet Assembly Bengaluru, and Dr. Veena.K Nodal Officer, Bengaluru District Electoral Literacy Club and Ass.Prof, Government Arts College Bengaluru.
Program was very fruitful for the young voters and almost more than 200 students as well as teaching and non-teaching staffs were attended for this event.
3. National Voters Day:
As a part of “National Voters Day” Department has conducted an online survey throughout all the streams on 22nd January 2023. There was an active responses of 100 members.
Bulletin boards are an important component of classrooms. They provide a way to introduce new material or display student work. Students of Political Science have made Bulletin Board on the concept “UNION BUDGET OF INDIA” which also contains history, importance and also focused on latest budget.
5. Voter Awareness Campaign:
To Uphold the value of Democracy, Department of Political Science also conducted a Voter awareness registration drive as a part of Electoral Literacy Club(ELC) On 22nd Feb 2023 along with the initiation of Deccan herald and Prajavani Publications as their concern towards the public interest and to cherish the ideas of democracy. Campaign was very fruitful for the young voters. More than 150 students were participated in this along with the staffs. Mr. Rishvanjas Raghavan Consultant of DH was the main speaker and Mr. Ananda Thirtha, Mr. Narayan Ganeshan members of DH were present in the campaign.
